Thanks for dropping by!

This is the future home of a dinotrac.com feature called "Grumpy Old Rails" -- just one part of the dinotrac.com restoration and rejuvenation project.

Grumpy Old Rails? What the heck are you thinking?

  • Rails represents an excellent use of several modern and powerful technologies
  • Rails is oh-so-agile
  • The young kids are learning the whole mindset behind this stuff at school. For them, it's almost second nature to look at life the Rails way, right on down to all those strange acronyms like REST, DRY, and YAGNI. It would be tempting to think that Rails is strictly a plaything for the young and tragically hip, but you'd be wrong. Sure, we dinosaurs have to work a little harder to wrap our primitive minds around the stuff, but we bring some powerful pluses to the table, too -- especially if you're trying to make Rails play well in the enterprise.
  • Grumpy Old Rails is, in part, the experience of doing real work with Rails without a trace of peach fuzz on your cheeks
